I just found out about a really great writing contest at The Speculators’ Club where I write reviews. There is a new theme every month. The first month, March, the theme is cross-genre work. So I definitely have to get an entry in. The limit is 1,000 words. You can get people you know to vote you higher up in the monthly rankings. The monthly winners all move up and get judged professionally at the end of the year. The overall winner gets $1,000! That is about twenty times the going professional rate.
So get out there and Speculate This!
